A STUDY ON SPF TECHNOLOGY FOR THIN CORRUGATED PLATE OF TB2 TITANIUM ALLOY

Abstract: This paper discusses the technology for the SPF of the TB2(Ti-5Mo-5V-8Cr-3Al) titanium alloy in corrugated plate (t=0.25mm) anelement of spacecraft structure. The paper includes the discussion of theparameters of forming process and experimental equipment.The resultsshow that rough grain plate of TB2 titanium alloy has good superplasticityat 750±10℃ when no treatment of refined structure is done.Because of thedynamical recrystallization during SPF,the grain becomes smaller.Also,both the strength (σ_b) and the plasticity (δ) are better. For the thin corrugatedplate of TB2 titanium alloy,forming dies made of strainless steel(1Cr18Ni9Ti)and its plane sealing structure can meet the practical demand of SPF.
