Abstract: In order to accomplish the trigonomotric ranging of FY2 meteorological satellite,the ranging instrument has been developed.This paper introduces the functions and application of the ranging instrument,describes the principle of ranging with multi sidetone and measurement procedure,and also gives the characteristic and composition of the system.A pure sidetone ranging system was designed,and the specification and performance of this system was discussed.
