BRIDGMAN GROWTH OF HgCdTe UNDER MICROGRAVITY IN SPACE

Abstract: Bridgman crystal growth of HgTeCd was successfully finished under microgravity in space with the aid of a double heat zones crystal furnace piggyback on the Chinese returnable satellite.Some significant results were obtained.This paper introduces the design and the test process of the furnace,the main analyzed results of the recovered samples,as well as the discussion of the design of materials processing facilities and some related technological problems.
