PROCESSING METHOD USED FOR REMOTE SENSING DATA OF SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURE BY METEOROLOGICAL SATELLITE

Abstract: For the remote sensing of Sea Surface Temperature(SST)by the meteorological satellite,the keys of data processing are cloud testing and correction of atmospheric attenuation.The current method used in the SST processing system of Chinese Satellite Meteorology Center is the multi-cha- nnel statistical regressive method which has been generally used in the world for NOAA satellite data.But as the radiometer on the Chinese FY-1 sate- llite has only one infrared window channel,Satellite Meteorology Center has to develop a statistical estimation method.This paper briefly introduces the fundamental principles,computation methods and processing results by using these methods and reviews the characteristics of the two methods.
