Abstract: In the 1990's, it is of great meaning and benefit to speed up the application of meteorological satellite in China. The ideas which relate to the scientific and technical strategy to be taken for developing the application of meteorological satellite are proposed in this paper. A series of research subjects and critical technical problems which need to be solved are also proposed.
