Abstract: The paper presents an overall analysis on various kinds ofpossible methods of fast acquisition in the view of the whole system. Precisemathematical models have been established and used to analyse the influencesof PN pattern,Gaussian noise and Doppler frequency shift on the perfor-mance of PN code aquisition.Computer-aided analysis gives some quantitativeand qualitative results which indicate that SAW matched filter is the bestchoice.Theoretical analysis is also given to the recommended RDSS standardinbound PN pattern.One possible fast acquisition method has been conceivedaccording to this pattren.
