Abstract: hree mathematic models of estimating rain attenuation of the Ku band are described and the characteristics of this band rain attenuation are discussed.According to these models.the values of the rain attenuation are estimated at a variety of cases and compared with the measured data.Finally,the rain area distribution in China and the margin of the Ku band rain attenuation are discussed.
