Abstract: Theessentialrelationshipbetweensecondaryelectronsemissionand chargingstatesofdielectricwasinvestigatedbasedonchargingbalancemodewithnumericalsimulat ion.BothMonteCarloandfinitedifferencetimedomainalgorithmswereadoptedfornumericalsimulat ion, consideringelasticandinelasticessentialbetweenincidentelectronsandmaterialatomsduringscatte ringprocessandcalculatingdiffusion, driftandtrapeffectsofinternalcharges.Underdifferentchargingbalancemodes, thesecondaryelectronemissionandchargingstatesofdielectricontransientchange, internaldistributionsandsaturationvalueswereanalyzedandsimulated.Theresultsshowthatchargi ngbalancemodescanbedividedintothesecondaryelectron(SE)mode,theleakageelectron(LE) modeandthecombined(CO)mode.TheSEmodecorrespondstothesurfacechargingstate,whiletheLE modecorrespondstothedeepchargingstate.WhenthechargingbalancemodechangestowardsSEmod efromLEmode,boththesecondaryelectronyieldandthenegativesurfacepotentialincreases,while variationtrendsofthetotalchargingquantityandchargingtimeconstantpresenttobeopposite asaresultofbalancemodechange.
