Abstract: Atpresent,solvingthethreedimensionalPoissonequationofcomplexelectricfieldintheelectricthrusterstillhasthedisadvantagesofslownessandpoorparallelism. Asuccessiveoverrelaxationparallel(PSOR)iterativealgorithmwasproposedtosolvethethreedimensionalPoissonequationbasedontheideaofdomaindecomposition.Thesolutionregionwasdividedintoseveralsubdomains.AndanumberofexplicitschemeswereconstructedbyusingtheSORmethod.Thenaccordingtothedifferentschemes,thesolvingequationsfordifferentiterativestepsweregivenforparallelcomputation.Thenumericalsimulationresultsshowthatthecalculationtimeisreducedbyatleasthalf.AndthePSORmethodhasmadegreatprogressinthecomputationspeedcomparedwiththetraditionaliterativescheme.
