Abstract:  Basedontheline-of-sightmeasurement,acooperativecontrolmethodforleaderlessformationflightispresented.Line-of-sightvectormeasurementisgeneratedwheneachsatelliteinaformationtracksitsneighboringspacecraft.Thefirstmemberoftheformationtracksthedesiredorbitaccordingtothecommandfromahighlevelcontroller.Achainformationisgenerated.Distancesbetweenline-of-sightmeasurementsaretakenasfeedbackoftheformationcontroller.Therelativeperturbationequationsareprovidedtomakesurethatmodelinguncertaintiesandperturbationsareconsideredinthecontrolstrategy.Cyclicformationcontrolisperformedviaslidingmodecontroller.Simulationresultsshowthattheproposedcontrolmethodcanbeusedforsatelliteformationmaintenanceandmaneuver.
