Abstract: IntheMarsentrydeceleratelandingprogram,theparachuteisakeyinstrumentoftheaerodynamicdeceleratorsystem.BecauseoftheparticularityoftheMarsatmosphere,theparachuteusedfortheMarsmissondeploysunderthesupersonic,lowdensity,lowdynamicpressureconditions.SotheconstructionandsizingoftheMarsparachuteismuchimportant.TheMarsparachutetechnologywasinvestigatedandanalyzedbyfourtypesofparachute,consideringthediskbandarearatioandporosityofthecanopymaterial.Todeterminethedragandstaticstabilityofthevarioustypesofdisk-gap-bandparachutemodel,theMarsparachutetransoniccharacteristicstestinChinawasfirstlyconducted.Thefronttrussandwindtunnelbalancewasusedtomeasuretheaxisforceontheparachutemodel,andthephotographywasusedtoobservetheangleofattackoftheparachute.Thetestresultsshowthat,thetransonicdragcoefficientofthedisk-gap-bandparachuteaccordswiththetheoreticaloneandcansatisfytheMarsmissionrequirements.Itisalsoobservedthatthereductionofstabilityofthedisk-gap-bandparachuteisaccompaniedbytheincreasingofthedragperformance.
