Abstract: Thecathodematerialsusedinelectronmultiplier,fieldemission cathodeandparticle/photondetectorhavetheproblemoflowsecondaryelectronemissionyieldand unstableemission.Tosolvethisproblem, differentboronconcentrationdiamondfilmsbymicrowaveplasmachemicalvapordepositionwereprepared .ThesurfaceofB-dopeddiamondfilmwastreatedbyHydrogenplasma.Thesecondaryelectronemissi on(SEE)fromB-dopeddiamondfilmswasinvestigated. Thescanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM)andtheRamanspectrumanalysiswereusedtoexaminethepropertiesoftheB-dopeddiamondfilm. ThemaximumSEEyieldupto18.3at1keVprimarybeamenergywasfoundundertheconditionthatthesampleswereleftinairforweeksandsubjecttonotreatmentpriortothemeasurement.Oxidationtreatmentdestroysnegativeelectronaffinity(NEA)whereasheatingupinvacuumsubstantiallybringsbackNEA.B-dopeddiamondfilmisexpectedtobeusedinelectronmultiplier,fieldemissioncathodeandparticle/photondetector.
