Abstract: Duetotheindistinctphysicalmeaningsforinternalbalancingreductionandthedifficultyinextractingbalancecoordinatesfromsensorreadings,amodelreducedmethodfrombalancedspacetomodalspacewaspresentedviareverseprojectionbasedonthedynamicsmodelofflexiblespacecraft.Accordingtotheinvarianceofthetransferfunctionandtheeigenvaluesforstatespacetransformation,theeigenfrequencieswereobtainedbythezero-poletransferfunctionofbalancedreducedmodel.Thecorrespondingrelationshipbetweenthebalancedstatesandmodalcoordinateswasgivenandthereverseprojectionmatrixwasconstructed.Thefrequencyresponseandcontrollabilityandobservabilityanalysisshowsthatthestatesofreducedmodelinmodalsubspaceandthestatesoforiginalmodelarematched.Thereducedmodelwithdefinitephysicalmeaningisapplicabletosubsequentstructuralcontroldesign.
