Abstract: Automaticsamplingmechanismisoneoftheimportanttoolsforlunarexplorationsandplaysakeyroleinobtaininglunarsoilsamples.ThusautomaticsamplingtechniqueisakeytechniqueforChineselunarexplorationmission.Anautomaticdrillingsamplingmechanismschemewithcoaxialdouble-tubedrillsandaflexiblesamplebagpick-upwasputforwardfordeeplayerlunarsoilsampling.Thefunction,constructionandprincipleoftheautomaticdrillingsamplingmechanismweredescribedindetail.Byanalyzingthesamplingmechanicalproperty,theoptimizedresultsshowthatspiralangleis14°,axialspeedis5.7 mm/sandrotaryspeedoftheouterdrillis13.1 rad/s.Toobtainsoilfrom1 mdepth,thediameterofdrilltubecouldbebiggerthan7 mm.ThemechanicalmodelsforbothlunarsoilandthedrillwereestablishedbyABAQUSsoftware.Onthebasisofthesemodels,adynamicalsimulationfordrillingprocesswasperformed.Anaverageresistantforceisabout300 Nandanaverageresistanttorqueofthedrillis7.5N·m,whichprovidesimportantreferencesforengineeringdesignoftheautomaticdrillingsamplingmechanism.
