Abstract: Toexplorethepredictiveabilityforthepenetrationcharacteristicsoftheimpact limitequationsabouthoneycombsandwich, 3typesofballisticlimitequations,equivalentmethodsonthepanelthickness, and131CFRPexperimentaldatahadbeeninvestigated, andthepredictiveabilityoftheequationshadbeencalculated. TheresultsshowthatthepredictedprobabilitiesofMETequationtootherdatasourceareallover80%, soMETequationcanbepreferredintheengineeringpredictionfortheprotectivestructure. ThesafetypredictionratesofSRLquationtootherdatasourceandselfdatasourceareallreach100%, soSRLequationsuitsforthedesignofhighreliabilityprotectionstructure. Finally, theideaofoptimizingcoefficientsandspeedcutoffvaluefortheimpactlimitequationswasstudiedtoimprovethepredictiveability.
