Abstract: Aimingatthewidebandradarechosignalreturnedfromthesatellite,thepolynomialphasemodelwasanalyzedindetailduetoitshighspeedmotion.Asaresult,thedistortiononhighresolutionrangeprofilecausedbythreeorhigherdegreepolynomialcanbeneglected.Accordingtothewidthofspectrummainlobeatdifferentvelocities,aboundconditionwasderivedtocompensatethequadraticphase.Theresultindicatesthatthesatellitespeedismuchgreaterthanthederivedbound(near560m/s)withthetypicaloperatingparameters,andshouldbecompensatedbeforeimaging.Furthermore,basedonthesparsedistributioncharacteristicsofscatteringcenters,anL1-normbasedalgorithmwaspresentedtoestimatethesatellitevelocity.SimulationsshowthatthestandarddeviationoftheestimatorisclosetotheCramer-Raolowerbound,andtheestimationerrorismuchlessthanthederivedboundforcompensation.Theproposedalgorithmisapplicableforsatelliteimaging.
