Abstract: Amixoptimalalgorithmwiththebenefitsofbothglobalandlocalalgorithmswasproposedforfootprintoptimizationofreusablelaunchvehicle.Entryflightdynamicswasgiventodescribethefootprintproblem.Optimalbankanglecontrollawwasderivedbasedonthemaximumprincipleandtheconstraintsofthecontrolinputswerediscussed.Initialguessofparameterswasfoundedthroughgeneticalgorithms.Andthen,patternsearchmethodwasusedforrapidandpreciseparametersoptimization.Simulationresultsshowthattheproposedapproachprovidesaconvenientwayforrapidlyfindingfootprintwhileenforcingpathconstraintsandcontrolinputconstraints.
