Abstract: AprospectiveresearchforusingtheBeiDouRegionalNavigationSatelliteSystemtocivilaviationapplicationwasmadebasedonthecharacteristicsof“5GEO+5IGSO+4MEO” constellationandrequirementsofnonpreciseapproach(NPA)incivilaviation.Forthreeindexesthevisibilityofspacevehicle,dilutionofprecision(DOP)valuesandhorizontalprotectionlevel(HPL)value,thestatisticalcharacteristicsinAsiaPacificareaandthecomparisonofthreeindexesfor4designateduserlocationswerepresentedbysimulationandanalysis.TheresultsshowthattheBeiDouRegionalNavigationSatelliteSystemhastheabilitytoprovidetheidealnumberofsatelliteinsight,bettervaluesofDOPandHPL,andcanmeetthecurrentneedsoftheabovethreeindexesinNPAflightphase.
