Abstract: Aphysicalmodelforthepropagationcharacteristicsofelectromagneticwavesinthesub-wavelengthplasmawasestablished.Thetransmissionofelectromagneticwavesinthethin-layersurfaceofthereentryspacecraftwasstudiedfortheelectromagneticwaveinthecommunicationfrequencyband.TheproposedmodelwasbasedontheMaxwell′sequations,andadifferentialthinlayermethodwasusedtosolvetheproblem.Thetransmissioncharacteristicsandpropagationlawsoftheelectromagneticwaveinsubwavelengthplasmawereobtainedunderdifferentplasmadensities.Theeffectsofthecutoffreflectionandthecollisionalabsorptionwererevealed.Thisstudyisofgreatsignificanceforunderstandingthepropagationcharacteristicsofelectromagneticwavesinsub-wavelengthcollisionalplasmas.
