Abstract: InordertoaccuratelypredicttheshorttermtrendandintensityofrainattenuationinKa-bandsatellitegroundlink,short-timerainattenuationpredictionforKa-bandsatellitecommunicationsystembasedonnumericalweatherpredictionwasintroduced,andthepredictionprocesswasdesigned.Thenonerainfallprocessinaregionwasstudiedbyusingthemethodmentioned above,andthemeasuredvaluesofrainfallattenuationandtheforecastvalueofrainfallattenuationbasedonnumericalforecastwerecomparedandanalyzed.Theexperimentalresultsshowthattheerrorofrainfallattenuationissmallbetweentheforecastvaluesandmeasuredvalues,andtheirvariationtrendisingoodagreement.Thismethodcanbeusedforshort-termrainfallpredictionofKa-bandsatellitecommunicationsystem.
