  • Open Access and Copyright Policy


    1. Open Access: Chinese Space Science and Technology flipped to an open access journal since the 1st issue of 2023. Once published, all articles ever since are immediately and permanently available for readers to read and download free of charge. Journal articles from the 5th issue 2010 to the 6th issue 2022 are turned to open access works. Articles published in the 4th issue 2010 and before are not open access for now, but some of the abstracts can be read on this website.

    2. Creative Commons License: For all open access articles published by this journal, the following user license is adopted: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license allows reusers to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format. The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as the license terms below are followed: reusers must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Reusers may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the use. Reusers may not use the material for commercial purposes. If reusers remix, transform, or build upon the material, they may not distribute the modified material.     3. Copyright Transfer: Authors are required to sign the Copyright Transfer Agreement. Authors agree to submit the article for publication in this journal. Once the above-mentioned article is published, authors agree to transfer the copyright of the article to the Editorial Office of China Space Science and Technology worldwide free of charge, including but not limited to the right of reproduction, distribution, information network dissemination, broadcasting, performance, translation, compilation, adaptation, etc. The authors agree with the open access policy of this journal. The editorial office agrees that authors may continue to use the article under the following circumstances: 1) academic reports and speeches; 2) Non-commercial academic exchanges; 3) Other activities permitted and authorized by the editorial office or the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 License.

    4. Archive:All journal articles published by this journal since the 5th issue 2010 have been digitally archived on this website. The hard and soft copy of each issue of the journal are kept in the editorial office for archiving. In order to ensure data security, all information has also been backed up in the editorial office. Other relevant materials are also kept by the editorial office, such as supplementary information and forms provided by the authors. The journal’s articles can also be downloaded in full text from databases including CNKI, Wanfang and Weipu. If the journal and the website were closed, archived data could be retrieved through those full-text databases.

    5. Data Sharing: The authors are encouraged to publish or share their research data whenever appropriate. Data sharing is helpful for experiment repeating and data reuse. The data for sharing may include original data, observation records, experimental results, etc. The journal also encourages the sharing of software, code, models, algorithms, protocols, methods and other useful materials. The authors can upload the materials above to an accessible third-party repository and make a proper citation or add a link at the end of the article.
