Guide for Authors

  • Requirement for Manuscripts

A scientific paper is an article written using scientific style, principles and methods, and accurately applying scientific concepts, judgement, and reasoning. Scientific papers should be innovative, cutting-edge, practical and readable.

    1.Title

The wording of the title must be carefully considered, striving to be concise, relevant, and striking. Avoid using lengthy and verbose sentences to describe the content of the paper point by point. Also avoid using vague words that fail to reflect the theme of the paper. In addition, avoid sensationalism, lack of retrievability, and even discrepancies between title and content. The title should generally not exceed 20 Chinese characters.

    2.Introduction

This section provides a brief introduction to the writing background and purpose of the paper, and an overview of previous research in the relevant field should be included. It explains the study's relationship to previous achievements, current research hotspots, and existing problems. Additionally, it outlines the specific issues this paper addresses and their significance. Avoid lengthy descriptions of historical origins and research processes. It is not necessary to excessively describe common sense in textbooks or familiar to peers. When it is necessary to mention the research results and basic principles of others, it should be cited as references. The content of the introduction should not be identical to the abstract, nor should it be a commentary to the abstract.

    3.Main Body Text

The logical structure of a scientific paper must have three main elements: proposition, evidence, and argument.

    (1) Proposition

A proposition states the authors' viewpoint and the aim of their argument. A proposition could include a general point and sub-points. The general point is the center of the scientific paper, and the sub-points are the expansion, attributes, aspects, relationships, levels, or process of the general point.

    (2) Evidence

Evidence is the material used to support the proposition, which can be divided into factual evidence and theoretical evidence. Factual evidence can be observed phenomena, calculated data, or experimental results, while theoretical evidence can be a viewpoint, a method, a principle, etc. Therefore, evidence can be natural language, symbols, figures/tables, and data.

    (3) Argument

The viewpoint, principles, methods, and key processes for achieving the expected goals of the paper should be fully elucidated. Innovation is encouraged. The argumentation of a paper often varies greatly depending on different disciplines and types.

Figures and tables should be appropriate, well-designed, sparing, and expressive. The information should be complete and self-explanatory. Avoid repeating content of the main text. The definition and writing of symbols, terminology and dimensions throughout the main text, formulas, figures and tables should be consistent.

    4.Conclusion (Discussion)

The conclusion should not be a simple repetition or summary of each paragraph in the main text. It should be based on the phenomena, data, and analysis obtained in the main text, and thus elaborate on the following content completely, accurately, and concisely:

    1) The principles and universals revealed by the results obtained from the investigation or experiment of the research object.

    2) Any exceptions found in the research or issues that are still difficult to explain or solve by this paper.

    3) Differences and similarities compared with previously published research work.

    4) Theoretical and practical significance and value of this paper, and suggestions for further in-depth research on this topic.

    5.Introduction of Authors

The following information of the first author should be provided: author's name, year of birth, final degree information (time, institute, major), position, professional title, and current research direction.

    6.Other Requirements

The article types include research papers, thematic discussions, and scientific reviews. The publishing scope covers system and subsystem technologies of spacecraft, sounding rockets, astrodynamics, TT&C, spacecraft re-entry and return technology, space electronics, telemetry, space energy, space communication, space navigation and positioning, space environment engineering, space materials and technology, space medicine and medical engineering, integrated tests, spacecraft engineering management, space technology applications and space technology development trend, etc.

    1) The article should be concise, generally not exceeding 8000 Chinese characters. Technical reports should be within 5000 characters, and experience introductions generally within 3000 characters.

    2) It should be annotated if the paper is supported by national key funding projects (such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China).

    3) If the manuscript is written in English, a Chinese version that is completely consistent with the English version should be provided.

    4) Manuscripts must be final, clear, neatly written, and clean. Punctuation should be used correctly, and standardized characters must be used.

    5) Foreign letters, mathematical symbols, and superscript/subscripts in manuscripts should be clear and easy to distinguish.

    6) Illustrations should be with black and distinct lines. Characters, numbers, and symbols in the figures should be clear and strictly consistent with the main text. Photos should be in black and white, with clear layers. Generally, there should be no more than 10 figures in each manuscript.

    7) Units of measurement and Chinese quantifiers should be used correctly according to national standards. New technical terms and quantifiers used should be annotated with corresponding foreign language and necessary explanations.

    8) Manuscripts should not be involved in confidential breach. Any matters involving confidentiality should be reported to the competent department of the institute for approval. A recommendation letter which certifies the institute agrees with publishing the paper is required.

    9) The manuscript must include: the authors' real names (pen names may be used if the author requests), institute's mailing address (including postal code), contact phone number, and email address.
