In this paper, two different attitude control methods for the geostationary satellite,i.e.attitude control by satellite-ground loop and autonomous attitude control on board are discussed. Attitude controls of China satellite STW-1,STW-2 are described.Design of attitude control system for three axis stabilized spacecraft is also discussed.

OPTIMAL STRATEGIES FOR ORBITAL INCLINATION CONTROL OF GEOSTATIONARY SATELLITE

Using inclination vector as a non-singular orbital element, engineering oriented mathematical models for inclination control of geosta- tionary orbit are established, and unified optimal strategies for inclination control both in north-south station aquisition and north-south station keeping derived. The results are applicable to the missions which require north-south station keeping accuracy of 0.05°~0.1° and have been implemented in flight control of the Chinese STW-2 satellite.

ELECTRICAL DESIGN OF ANTENNA SUBSYSTEM OF CHINESE C BAND COMMUNICATIONS SATELLITE WITH LARGE CAPACITY

Abstract

A design concept for the shaped beam antenna used in the next generation of the chinese communications satellite is given in this paper. Starting from the system requirements and boundary conditions,a method to design the antenna contour pattern, which is able to match both shapes of two service zones,in relation to two different satellite positions on orbit, is described. The problems which will arise in design, and their solutions, especially the problems about the beam forming network are presented. Finally, the optimization of the antenna substsyem of the satellite on the second orbit position has been carried out,and its performance is also pre- sented.

Abstract

The article describes quantitatively and qualitatively the princi- ples of the east-west stationkeeping for geostationary satellites.Aslo given here are certain important parameters which best reflect the characteristics of the east-west drift ring. The analysis has shown that the results got both from theoretical calculation and analysis of the data from TT&C equipment are well consistent.
