MECHANICAL SOLAR ARRAY AND ANTENNA FOR THE CHINESE DFH-3 SATELLITE SYSTEM
    Qi Faren (CAST) L.Laux M.Reindl N.Nathrath H.G.Schnell (MBB,Germany)
    1991, 11 (05):  1-7.
    Abstract ( 2367 )   Save
In July 1987 a cooperation contract between China GreatWall Industry Corporation and MBB was signed for the procurement of ma-jorelements of the Chinese C-band communication satellite DFH-3.Development and manufacture of the mechanical solar array and the com-munication antenna form part of this contract, related technical and prog-rammatic aspects are described. The design of the mechanical solar array isbased on flight proven technics. With this experience and a computer aideddesign optimization the severe mass and stiffness requirements could be satis-fied.The communication antenna for the coverage of the People's Republic ofChina is a specific development for DFH-3.Combined transmit/receive func-tion and full polarization multiplexing are the major features that have beenrealized by a polarization sensitive reflector assembly fed by two 7-hornarray clusters, each accommodated by a support structure. An extensive testprogramme proves compliance of electrical and structural performances withthe specifications.

ESTIMATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS FOR THE GAMMA DISTRIBUTION
Wang Hongzhou Ma Baohua Shi Jusheng (Beijing Institute of Technology)
    1991, 11 (05):  8-15.
    Abstract ( 1571 )   Save
Environmental factor estimation for the gamma distributionwith two parameters is studied here.In consideration of the characteristicsof the gamma distribution and the definition of environmental factors forthe exponential distribution and the convenience of data converting, the de-finition of environmental factors for the gamma distribution is proposed. In according to this definition, lower and upper confidence limits of environ-mental factors are derived by classical,Bayesian and Fiducial methods, andsome approximate confidence limits are also given.A practical example isprovided.

EXTRACTING INTRINSIC IMAGES IN COLOR IMAGE
Huang Yuming (Beijing Institute of Control Engineerig) Xu Guangyou (Qing Hua University) Ye Peijian (CAST)
    1991, 11 (05):  25-28.
    Abstract ( 4469 )   Save
The position and the color of a light source affect the image ofan object, and ideal results can't be obtained by usual segmentation algorithmdue to the appearence of highlights. The Dichromatic Reflection Model is usedto divide a color image into two intrinsic images——matte image and highl-ight image. The matte image is the original image with the highlights remo-ved,reflecting the invariance of the object and being not affected by theenvironmental factors(such as the position and the color of the light sour-ce);but the highlight image is just an image of highlights, reflecting theenvironmental factors, and providing information for shape from gloss. The color image in this paper refers to that of a monochrome object gene-rated by color CCD camera under monochrome light(not the light with singlewavelength).

APPLICATION OF GPS TO PRECISION SATELLITE ORBIT DETERMINATION
Liu Dongsheng (Beijing Institute of Satellite Information Engineering)
    1991, 11 (05):  34-40.
    Abstract ( 1859 )   Save
Since GPS experimental constellation was built up,several kindsof method have been developed for precise determination of satellite orbit with GPS measurement. In 1984 a experimental Global Positioning SystemPackage(GPSPAC)was carried on LANDSAT-5 for validation of the acc-uracy of GPSPAC orbit solutions. In 1982,a research team in JPL developeda type of double differenced GPS range and doppler measurements to meetsubdeeimeter accuracy demand of TOPEX.Beside the application of GPS tolow-altitude earth orbit satellite, means and accuracy analysis have beenconceived for high orbit or even geosynchronous orbit determination.Thispaper intends to introduce and review the methods mentioned above in brief.

    Abstract ( 1777 )   Save
This paper introduces a FTA-FMEA joint method for the ana-lysis of electronic clrcuits. The reliability design is carried out based on thismethod, therefore the reliability of the electronic equipment on board space-craft is increased effectively. The method and the examples presented in thispaper arc of reference value for electronic system designers.

    Abstract ( 1623 )   Save
This article gives the explanation of the technical requirementfor the exploration measurement of the site of the satellite communicationearth station and comes to the most necessary conclusion for establishingthe station from the calculation of the azimuth and elevation angle, thepermitted microwave interference level, and from the measurement of themicrowave interference, and also from the rough calculation of the transmitcoordination distance.
