    SPACE STATION ORBIT ALTITUDE SELECTION
Fan Jianfeng (Chinese Academy of Space Technology)
    1991, 11 (04):  1-8.
    Abstract ( 2287 )   Save
There are many factors which influence the selection of spacestation orbit, such as mission requirements, radiation environment,meteoroid/debris environment, configuration of space station, vehiclecapability, launch window and logistics demands of space station. The resupply delivery system performance for space station generally tendsto favor lower orbit altitude, but the orbit maintenance requires higher alti-tude.This paper describes the effects of resupply, orbit maintenance and solaractivity on the orbit altitude, and presents the optimum operation altitudesof space station. It's also calculated two numeral examples for mannedspacecraft delivery system and shuttle delivery system. The main conclusion is that the optimum orbit altitude of space station isnot constant. It varies with the solar activity, delivery system and trafficlevels.During period of high solar activity, the orbit altitude should be adjustedupward. As the traffic levels to space station are increased, the optimumoperation altitude should be lower.

    1991, 11 (04):  16-21.
    Abstract ( 2452 )   Save
The color of certain object surface has a constant feature, irrelevant to the object surface shape. But the color of the image is variablebecause of the existence of highlights. To construct a physical modelof color reflection is a way to understand the image color correctly.Thispaper describes a method of computing light source color coordinates andobject color coordinates.Based on the Dichromatic Reflection Model proposedby Klinker et al,the method first makes plane fitting in the color cube byusing K-L transform, then separates the interface reflection componentsand body reflection components. Also the limitations of practical CCD camerasare discussed and the experiment results are presented. The color imagegiven in this paper refers to that generated by a color CCD camera frommonochromatic object under monochromatic light(not the light with singlewavelength).

    Abstract ( 2248 )   Save
The paper discussed the features and the objectives of thermal-vacuum test for manned spaceflight based on the investigation of foreignexperience,15 thermal-vacuum tests divided into three types havebeen proposed. The necessity of thermal-vacuum test on a complete mannedspacecraft is also discussed;and proposal a single module or more inconnection under the simulated environment condition both inside and outsidethe module are suggested. The paper also discussed the distinguished featureand the application of manned spacecraft thermal-vacuum tests, and thespecial devices needed for astronauts that should be attached to the satellitetest facility in order to meet manned spaceflight test requirements.
